Why Mental Health Awareness

It feels good to help others, right? That's why, for every candle you purchase, 10% goes directly to The Trevor Project, which is an organization dedicated to helping at-risk or struggling LGBTQIA+ youth. Did you know that LGBTQIA+ youth are 5x more likely to attempt suicide than heterosexual kids? As someone who struggles with mental illness, it's very important to me to give back and provide resources for others that I wish I had when I was younger. There are so many wonderful organizations out there, some of which I've listed here, that are bringing light to a topic that has too-long been in the dark in our society. The more we lift each other up, the stronger we'll become, and that's our goal here at Guiding Glow Candle Co. Our hope is that each candle will spark a conversation that will continue long after its use, and that by taking steps to help ourselves and others we can all be a community of light-bringers in this world.
