What are your candles made of?

Accepted Answer

They are made from natural soy wax, premium-grade oils, pure cotton wicks, and a recyclable mason jar. We use 100% soy wax because it is sustainably sourced, long lasting, and provides a cleaner burn than paraffin wax, so you can breathe easy! Each one is handpoured with love; some candle color may slightly vary from candle to candle.

How long do they burn for?

The 16oz mason jars burn roughly 85-100 hours. Soy is the best because it's natural, burns longer, and gives a cleaner burn!

Question 3

Can I recycle my mason jars when they're done?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely! You can recycle them yourself after cleaning them out, reuse them to put another candle (or flowers) in, or repurpose them. We'd LOVE to see what you do with them! If you do repurpose them, take a picture and tag us in it @guidingglowcandleco!

Do you ship overseas?

We are able to ship to PO Boxes in the US, but are not currently offering overseas shipping.

Can I mix-n-match different candles for a variety set?

Sure! We can mix and match 4 candles in a set, just visit our Shop-->Sets section and let us know exactly which ones you'd like at checkout!

Do you make candles for events?

We sure do! Check out our Events (javascript:void(0))page to find out more info. We'd love to be a part of your special day! We can design a custom package or, if you'd like, we can place a wholesale order for your event.

Can I order a size other than the one listed in the shop?

We currently offer 3 sizes: tea light, small votive, and 16oz mason jar.

How do I burn my candle safely to maximize usage?

Accepted Answer

Great question! You can also visit our Candle Care page for more tips, but here are our recommended tips for Candle Care and Safety:
 
1) Always keep your candles in a cool, dark and dry place.
 
2) When lighting the candle for the first time, burn until the wax melts across the entire surface to the sides of the glass. This prevents tunneling and allows the candle to create an even burn for the life of the candle. It may take 3-4 hours to achieve a full wax pool.
 
3) Trim your wick to 1/2" before each burn to promote an even burn, steady flame and limit sooting or mushrooming of the wick. Sooting can appear with candles that have burned longer than the 3-4 hour recommendation.
 
4) Keep the candle wax free of wick trims, matches or other debris at all times. Never leave a burning candle on or near anything that can catch fire such as furniture, drapes, books, paper, or other flammable material.
 
5) Keep your candle out of drafts so that you increase burn time, prevent uneven burning, smoking, diminished scent throw and accidental fire.
 
6) To maximize scent throw, keep the candle in an enclosed area with no open windows or doors for 30 minutes before entering. Likewise, don’t burn too many candles in small room or tight space that is not well ventilated.
 
7) Avoid placing your candle where they will be exposed to direct sunlight or harsh indoor lighting. Candles may fade if they are left in a bright light for an extended period of time.
 
8) Never leave a candle unattended around children, pets or drafts. Allow the candle to cool completely before handling. Extinguish your candle before leaving home or going to sleep.
 
9) Never burn a candle all the way down once the wick tab can be seen. Extinguish the flame if it comes too close to the container. Failure to extinguish the flame can be dangerous resulting in shattered glass from overheated container.
 
10) Replace the cap to your candle after it’s cooled from a burn to help keep the cold throw and keep dust from collecting on the top of your candle. Dust can be a fire hazard.
